Rock Hall is a unique destination for visitors from all over the world who enjoy boating. With its location right on the Chesapeake Bay, there are many opportunities to rent a small boat or kayak for a day. In addition, larger boats are available for bare-boat chartering and captained bay cruises.

Rock Hall is considered to be the ideal home port for pleasure boaters. Its sheltered marinas, deep water, and almost instant access to the bay, have made it a comfortable location to slip away from it all. Kent County Parks and Recreation offers thirty-nine boat slips available for rental through the County Public Landings Office.

Fishing and Crabbing

Rock Hall’s enduring heritage as a major fishing and oystering port on the upper Chesapeake Bay still lives on today. Opportunities for fishing and crabbing can be found through our many local fishing charters as well as on East Neck Island, the federal wildlife refuge.

Hunting

Hunters from all over the world have found Rock Hall to be “as good as it gets.” Flocks of ducks, geese and other migratory birds have found the fields around the community a perfect stopping point on their trek south and the corn fields are a perfect haven for deer. Let an experienced guide show you where to put a big one in your sights.

Local History

The history of Rock Hall is a fascinating component of the American experience. The town is rich with a proud heritage dating back 300 years. Find out why visitors such as George Washington, Talullah Bankhead, Eric Clapton and Charlie Byrd have made this small fishing and crabbing village their destination.

Rock Hall has three museums within the town limits and Kent County has a total of six covering everything from airplanes to watermen.

Perhaps the most essential part of the Rock Hall experience can be found through exploration and discovery. Rock Hall and it's surrounding areas are perfect for those seeking outdoor recreation and exploration.

Biking

Biking is a popular way to get around town and the lightly traveled roads and flat terrain make it ideal for bicycles and motorcycles. Bicycles are available to rent at Rock Hall Landing Marina and Swan Haven Boat Rentals.

The opportunities to witness wildlife in its natural environment are endless in Rock Hall and its county of Kent. Be sure to allow time on East Neck Island, a federal wildlife refuge, and Chesapeake Farms. Both are just a short trip by car. Camping

For those wanting to be closer to nature, a bayside campgound just a few miles from Rock Hall offers both transient and tent sites. Enjoy outstanding views of the Bay, a beach and other recreational activities.

Swimming & Picnicking

The newest of the County's parks and public landings, Bayside Landing Park is located off of Bayside Avenue in Rock Hall and is centered along the Rock Hall Harbor. The park offers a public swimming pool, public restroom facilities and deep water and dual boat ramps which provide direct access to the Chesapeake Bay.

Rock Hall’s small swimming beach and gazebo, known locally as Ferry Park, is located on Beach Road. With picnic tables, barbecue stands, and pavilions, it offers outstanding views from the Chesapeake Bay to the western shore and allows one to experience some of the best sunsets imaginable.
